500 PARTECIPANTS ALREADY ENTERED. THE FARTHEST FROM ARGENTINA AND AUSTRALIA

BERGAMO – 10th March 2015 – The start is still five months away, but there are already over
500 athletes registered in the first edition of the REDA Rewoolution Orobie Ultra-Trail®, the only race in the world over an ultra-long distance that starts from the mountains and ends in a medieval city.
This is a truly unique occasion, not just for Bergamo and its province, but also for the runners. It’s no surprise, therefore, that the race has received registrations from all over the world. In addition to a substantial number of Italians, there are athletes from over 15 nations, with some coming especially for the occasion
from the Antipodes, taking flights from Australia or even from Argentina to run among the Orobie mountains.
In this regard, the prestige of the REDA Rewoolution Orobie Ultra-Trail® is due to the absolute originality of the races organised – please find details below – which follow routes that were developed out of an expert knowledge of the territory and that manage to combine the renowned Sentiero delle Orobie (participants in the long race will pass near Serio Falls, one of the highest waterfalls in Europe), sections of the ancient Via Mercatorum, and the Parco dei Colli (Hills Park) of Bergamo. No less important is the experience of an organisation that, benefitting from the knowledge acquired from holding an invitation-only exploratory edition, has planned a large number of assistance points: 20 refreshment points and 2 rest areas for OUT and 11 refreshment points for GTO.
The demanding nature of the race, the beauty of the countryside and the history of Città Alta (the finish line is located in the splendid Renaissance setting of
Piazza Vecchia in Città Alta – Upper Bergamo) will be the ingredients presented by Bergamo to all registered runners on 31st July and 1st – 2nd August!
So that REDA Rewoolution Orobie Ultra-Trail® is truly the festival of sport and athletes that Spiagames Outdoor Agency and Asso Orobica have been planning for months, we need,
however, another indispensable and important ingredient: volunteers! We encourage you to answer this request, through the dedicated section on the home page of www.orobieultratrail.it, and help contribute to the success of these ambitious and unforgettable 3 days in the Orobie mountains.
Lastly, we’d like to remind you that until 31st May, you can still register at a reduced price: registration (after verification of the requirements needed for participation) is €110 for the Orobie Ultra-Trail®, while it is €70 for the Gran Trail Orobie.
